I have a nuvi 550.
I hate that f&@$!? thing.
I bought it cause of the touch screen and you should be able to use it on land and water.
You can't plot a route on water... which would be really useful for creating trolling patterns for weedbeds, etc. But nope.
When the battery gets low it seems to dump it's memory so I've lost my points a few times.
It must think I'm in Europe because it's constantly trying to get me to drive on the wrong side of the road... "turn left, then make an immediate right" into oncoming traffic. Haven't found a setting for that one.
And now the thing stopped finding addresses and intersections.
I may never buy another garmin because of this thing.
I may send it out for a factory restart but that will cost me money and garmin says the only place to send it is in Quebec somewhere.
With the power of smartphones now I really should look into apps that do the same thing.

I really like my Delorme PN-60w. Mine also came with the Spot Communicator.
