Default Gull Lake Dec.21/2008 Report

Cold out.... fished 10 + feet of water. Ice seemed safe, and many heavy diesel trucks were out already on the ice.

Managed 4 whites.. i missed another 3 whites on the take, and my friend lost about the same on whitefish takes. Also scored on a 10.5 inich perch.

Some pics of the day....

Camera Lense got a little steamed with the heater going...

Biggest white of the day

Nice fish, I'm hauling my shack out to Gull shortly after Christmas and was wondering how well to flasher worked in 10 fow. Is the water clear enough to see bottom yet or was the flasher the way to go?

I have to ask if you have a heater in your tent? The heater makes all of the difference in the tent and make a crappy cold day very enjoyable.

it was clear enough, but yet murky... i used the flasher so see whitefish come in, then id look down the hole and watch them suck in the lure and then set the hook. was intresting to tsee the bottom dance on the flasher everynow and then. So i dropped my lure down further and got the perch, lol

Hey, if you want to land a monster, I have my ice diving ticket, I'll hop in and give the old tip-up a good yank.

I did that diving in minnewanka once

It was summer, and there were some people shore fishing off an area some divers call the cliffs. Surprised they didn't see our bubbles, or dive flag for that matter. Anyhow, when drysuit diving I wear thick neoprene mitts, I grabbed a lure and started swimming away with it. I just about spit out my regulator I was laughing so hard....

We surfaced after a few minutes and had a good laugh with the guys fishing.

Yeah thats one of the things i am not happy about. Only one of my windows split.. and it was from just un-doing the velcro window cover.
