Default How is spring lake?

has anybody been to Spring Lake near Edmonton? Last year I heard there were perch over there. I am planning to take my 10 years boy out fishing. Thanks

No Perch left in spring from a winter kill a few years back. The rainbow size has come back somewhat but fishing is very slow this time and of year

The fish are very pokey right now. You have to really bait them in to bite, lots of action on your lure, bang the bottom to get them interested etc...
Dead sticks and jaw jackers are a waste of time, they just nose those baits and move on.
The last big female I pulled out had 0 in her stomach. They usually are a bag of marbles from all the snails.
