Default Charging for boat launch at Wabamun !

Read the sigen at Wabamun ,they are going to start charging to launch your boat at the main town boat launch starting july 29.
Looks like everyone will just have to head over to the provinial campground launch ,it should be for free still.

They need to bring in some gravel and raise up the bottom as it's all been pushed away from start ups .
I stay way west it's not so steep there .
Does it say how much ?
At Wizard lake you cant park or launch without paying or have a pass as of a couple of years ago already .

Don't launch anything bigger then a 14 foot aluminum at falls. Way to shallow. You will be 30 feet from shore by the time you are floating.

With the "self serve" parking thingy, I assume that'll affect parking in the lot there in the winter as well?

I hate to say it, but I may end up having to buy a seasonal pass

15 bones for VIP parking and boat launch .............. I am happy to pay for no line ups and a excellent launch.

Water is up over a foot and almost at end of asphalt - 100% of the concrete launch blocks are under water.

My 18 footer (and she's pretty deep) went in nicely and read 5 feet deep only 20 feet out from the launch ramp. Rear tires on truck dry ......... in and out.

Best $15 bucks I spent today .......... with a 10 lber to boot ........

Pavement from my house to the launch is worth in for Me !

Great launch and Paved parking with a dock to tie up and no
mud to deal with.
Washrooms are right there also. All the right things for me.

Cheap price for a nice launch in my book.

I noticed that the whole machine is taken out for the winter so no
fear of paying after freeze up.

Also..... I'm an early fisherman and usually on my way out by noon.
I've given my Ticket to a fellow angler on my way out.
my bad ........

Used to get gas and food in town and then launch, but launch from the provincial park when town charges.

What if a guy wants to put in a small personal pontoon? Do you have to pay to park? It is there other parking close by?

Haven't been there since the changes.

Ya, i'm the same. Can't justify the 15 bucks for 2-3 hours, so the business don't get their yearly licence money, ice cream money, coffee, and occasional pizza, and gas and pop I use to buy. I got no prob with the cost of launch, its a good value, the playpark is good for the kiddos, the launch and washroom and dock are all good, and if was to spend more time there I'd pay money.

How busy is the launch at the provincial park? I'm camping there next week.

Is it slower during the week than the weekend?

See ya

You only have to pay at Wizard on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. It is free during the week. I was there on a Wednesday two weeks ago.

I will never understand how people can pay 2-5 dollars for a coffee and money for bottles of water, but complain about fees like this.

Great launch, VIP parking, bathrooms and no mud?

I want that stuff for free! The people that live around there can pay for all of the out of towners to come and use the lake! Raise their taxes!

Give your heads a shake.

I have no issue paying the 15 bucks, the lauch is amazing and people who I have been around using it are courteous and pleasant overall... And the bathroom is key sometimes after a day on the boat...

The influx of people into a small town can be great for business. Look at the huge lineups at the park.. how many of those people would head to the town and stop at the gas station? Pick up a couple lures and some leaders?? Case of road beers(jk)?? Maybe stop for lunch, if they didn't have to pay 15 bucks for a few hours on the lake? I know that's the kind of stuff I do when I ice fish there in the winter.. If they want me to hand over 15 bucks, i'll just pack a lunch and go to the provincial park.

i think a fee to use a boat launch does nothing but benefit the people who use it!
fees= better maintenance better boat launch.

I wouldn't mind paying to launch a boat, but 15 bucks, that's tourist type money.
