Default Resident becoming a Non Resident

Needs clarification;
My son has moved to BC and is now considered a non resident. What happens to all his priority points he has acquired as a resident, will they transfer to his non residency or does he start over at zero.
Thanks.

So can he come back and hunt off those points but just needs to pay the extra cash as he is now non resident?

Curious as it relates to my brothers situation.

Yep he can hunt off of those points, but only the tags that are open to non-residents. Antlered moose (some wmus), antlered elk, trophy antelope, antlered mule deer, and I think non resident sheep? But, they have to be in a group application with a resident. Group draw.

If they ever plan on moving back, they can continue to build priority as a non-resident on the tags listed above. As long as they apply with a resident.

My brother put me on his priority only group application while I was living in Saskatchewan for a few years. When I moved back I had enough priority to pull a bunch of tags if I wanted.

Now I’m priority 8 for mule deer and have no idea where to use it!

Honestly, it kind of felt like cheating. But, that’s the way the system is set up I guess.

And as mentioned he will need to apply with a resident. I got caught on this this year when I tried to enter my daughter to draw her 10 priority moose tag.
Essentially, as a non-resident now, building priority will have to be done with a group. Him having a higher priority on his own is useless.
My daughter was lucky, my buddies son happens to be entering the same draw as I was trying to do for her so I will be able to put her in with him. He has enough priority to get drawn for the same zone.
