Default Got an email from RCMP

Just got an email and they want me to go to following link.

https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/firear...l-web-services

I went to link and logged in with my GC key and then they want me to enter
License number
Date of birth
Name
Place of birth

Anyone else got this email?

I am sure someone here can shed light on it

Thanks

Did they ask you to send them iTunes cards?

I’d be inclined to assume a scam. They will send you a letter if they have a issue.

I’ve never heard of the rcmp of being in the email business.

Perhaps call your local detachment to verify.

The link opens the legit rcmp page. So not sure this is a scam. But I have never heard of them sending you a reminder to renew your pal…What exactly do they want from you?

Default Did you purchase a firearm recently?

Not a scam. I got the same email. I logged in and there was a message related to a recent firearm purchase I made.

Got one last week as well. The website is very poorly designed, after going round and round for 20 mins I finally was able to determine it was a notification that my PAL is due in November

not saying i'm right, but if i got an email like that, i'd not click the link.....then i'd go to the gov't website to renew my licence and do the renewal there. no chance for someone to scam you. if i get an unsolicited email asking me to click on a link, i NEVER do it.

Since I’m a CFSC and CRFSC instructor, and not being a schmuck about phishing emails, I logged in after accessing the CFP website from my own links, and there is zero messages waiting……..
I’ve been out of town for work the last while, so there’s been no purchases made, either.

Me thinks the program is so overwhelmed there’s a bunch of screw ups happening.

Gheeze, how many times did the old LGR get hacked……..

If you’ve done anything online ever, your email is not secure.

Think about the fact this site has no security features and I’m sure you built your account using your email.

If your PAL expires in 9 months, you might as well submit your renewal now.

I got an email as well, about a day after I had ordered a gun out of BC. I did find it offly weird that it said one could login using bank info. How about no! Anyhow, after ****ing around for 20mins, I did find a message saying my upcoming transaction was pending, with a temp transfer permit.
I’d say phishing scam was lurking
