Default Fly line help

The more I read about fly line the more confused I seem to get. Can someone recommend me a line for pike/walleye fishing? I was looking at the airflo sniper line as a possibility. All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Careful what you ask for!

Opinions are like A**holes... Everyone's got one!! LoL

It's like asking someone for a reco for a massage therapist... Everyone's guy (or gal is the best)!!

Personal I like Snowbee XS-Plus Distance Fly Lines for pike and bulllies!

Just my opinion

Peter

go to Mad River Outfitters (https://www.madriveroutfitters.com/)

Email them. They will get back to you with everything you ever wanted to know - usually the same day

Check out the web sites of various manufacturers and look for tapers where the 20>25 end is heavy to cast and turn over large flies. Use a 8 weight at least.

I like the stuff from Trickflies.ca, casts really easily, floats well, comes with a 90 satisfaction guarantee and the price is right!

Default fly lines

I use cold water designed extreme weight forward sink tips. Good for shallow water when worked fast, and depth if you slow down. You don't need a floater unless you always fish shallow or floating flies only.

I like the SA sonar musky as long as its not too cool.
Any extreme weight forward line for colder water is fine, depending on casting ability or rod, anywhere from 350-450 gr.

Rio's winter redfish line is a good one if you want to stay with castability as a floater with a big fly if pike is new for you.
