Harvest report surcharge $15.75😡😡😡
Anyone else got this message while applying for draws??
Seem like if you don’t complete harvest report from previous year, you have to pay $15.75 before you can even buy a wildlife certificate???
This is the message I got ….
The following product(s) will be added to your purchase as a result of regulations:
Product Name
SUR-GHS Surcharge
There are pending special licence harvest surveys on your profile from the previous season, as a result the above surcharge will be added to your purchase in compliance with the regulation requiring mandatory harvest and effort reporting.

Would like go see Mandatory reporting within 3 days of harvest like what some states do. Failure to do so results in 1 years loss of hunting privileges.

Unless everyone reports all kills, it serves no purpose. That being said, will fill out my harvest surveys, to avoid the extra charges.

These harvest reports are what caused the elimination of general archery moose hunting in most zones

Not exactly.
Harvest “estimates” and outdated (or outright falsified) population data was used. Just like the grizzly bears.

As mentioned not news.
Not sure I'd like a three day window but could support something along those lines with a stricter timeline than we currently have.
I think no matter what the timeline though it will always be hard to keep people honest and hard to blame them when the more equals don't have to report at all

They estimated less than what people were reporting
When they figured out that bow hunters were semi successful they shut it down

The only thing worse than no data is bad data. There is no way in my world this type of purposeful nonsense would fly. It’s dangerous.

It can be easily manipulated to show whatever someone wants it to show

I got dinged on the game bird I was not able to submit…
Very annoying when you try to follow what they ask, but the system won’t let you submit when filled out correctly

I had the same issue (likely) on game bird where it would continuously freeze up when I tried to submit.. so eventually just had to submit with no harvest unfortunately. Oh well!

Not new news
I must have missed the memo, not sure what all the fuss is about. I read the regs every year for what I hunt especially the changes. Hunt, spend time in nature, have fun, when your done fill out the harvest report…. Sounds pretty easy to me… no worries for the upcoming year.

What a mature individual. I strongly suggest, we all need to be more like this guy, myself included.
Thank you for the positivity.

Its very useful information......
I'm sure someone is looking very closely at how many days I hunted grouse in every wmu and how many I harvested in each..
Its meaningless data.
If the data is been used you'd think they'd slow down on the deer doe killing after getting many reports of hunters not filling deer tags.
Can hardly find a deer in one zone I hunt that increased the quota back to 2 doe tags..
Personally, I think they increased the doe tag numbers as a money grab.
Keep selling tags... They don't care if there's more tags issued than deer to harvest.

Seems that the only thing that happens with harvest reports is they restrict hunting more and more.
They shut down 328 429 for early rifle a couple years ago.Just puts more pressure on the other zones.

If more animals are harvested than the zone can sustain, should they not restrict the amount of tags given out?

Or does high harvest numbers mean high animal numbers and thus more tags?
Does low harvest numbers mean low animal numbers? Or maybe it means not enough being harvested so increase tags?

My understanding was the harvest reports were meant to deter anti hunters who put in for tags. They’re unlikely to do the harvest report so it forces them to pay if they want to apply. Not sure it makes or not but that’s what they claimed it was for. I could be wrong.

I have a feeling I will be taking the hit as I don't recall doing the report after the season ended as we were dealing with my dads health issues. Oh well. My screw up and I will pay if it asks me too.

Not quite, having to purchase the Wildlife Certificate to apply for draws, was meant to deter anti hunters.
