I figured there would be some good fish in that hole... been meaning to give the land owner a call and head down there.

That's a nice-sized sauger, Dago.
I've only ever caught a couple (on the Red Deer River), but they were much smaller...

nice, still waiting for my first sauger. got some walleye tonight, and mooneyes as usual and a couple suckers. best eye was 22 and fat, they sure fight a lot better in the river than the lakes!

Take the boat out on rolling hills and catch some eyes out there.

They put up a real good fight. Even the smaller sized ones were pulling drag on my jigging rods.

You just have to catch bigger eyes on the lake to get the good fights. Any fish will feel like a better fight in some current.

Nice Sauger Dago! The river levels should drop quite a bit right away here. The st.mary dam is pretty much shut off. I was out that way this evening and it was barely trickling down the dam.

If you are coming out you better leave that ugly stik at home.

There is no room for that type of rod on a serious walleye expedition.

Ryan get my cell number from Erik and fire me a text sometime in the near future and we can discuss what kind of plans you had lined up.

hahaha. I can bring something else... I honestly do enjoy the ultra light ugly stik though, buddy had one a while ago and it was perfect for jiggin....

I know I will get heckled for this haha, but I think they are decent rods.

So, I can't say something like, "My Dad's is much longer and girthier than your Dad's!"???
Okay, I won't say anything like that.

How about,"I'm pretty sure double entendres are legal to use on the RDR, as long as you're below Tolman Bridge."???

Good on ya, Dago. It's been a while since I fished with you, and the sauger is still on my list. Will you take bribe to get me into sauger?
