Default Smaller jet leg

Anyone know how small these legs come in ?
My older 20 HP Merc has pretty well packed it in and I mostly want to run my WC14 Lund on rivers now, so I will be looking for a new motor with jet leg.
20-25 HP would do me fine if I can get one.
Thanks,

TBark

I have the same boat. I've used many motors on it. Merc jet 20 2 stroke 124 lbs, 1984 merc 40/28 jet 168 lbs, merc 25 hp 4 stoke 186lbs and finally an 06 40/30 4 stroke yamaha 230 lbs. They all have their pros and cons. If weight is a concern stick with the two stoke however for long trips I find you end up packing twice the fuel for the two strokes. I much prefer the 4 strokes as they are extreemly quiet and WAY better on fuel. My pops owns the 1984 40/28 and will be selling it this spring. Not sure how the PM thing works but try me if you like.

Default jet leg

I had a lund 14 ft rebel and a 1984 35 hp Johnson prop I converted to a jet leg. I put it on a pump dyno and it had about 18 hp at the jet. I could not get the boat up on step. I then purchased a 40/30 Yamaha 4 stroke jet, and that pushed it around just fine. I think you'll need about the same......30 hp at the jet or you will have issues getting around.
Cheers,
SH

Outboard Jets has plenty of conversion kits for all different kinds of motors. Great guys to deal with as well. Several dealers in Alberta to deal with, as they do not ship directly to Canada.
