That’s what I thought. Heard a rumor there was only 14”. Doesn’t seem like much for this time of year

Yeah, saw that as well. I found an average of 17-18 inches yesterday of good ice. I skidooed but next time I'll take the truck.

Thanks for the update. How much ice was there and what area did you access that had the flood water? Thanks

Drove out the diesel out to silver beach. Ice is 17/18”. There is a trail that runs from Mulhurst out to the point. It’s a little rough but ok to drive. There are a few people out around me and a guy with a stock trailer. Just waiting for the evening bite.

There are hard drifts everywhere so I’m not sure. Might be able to cross over them without breaking thru.

Just to add to the misery, I'm only about 40 kms North of Pigeon. We woke to 10 cm of snow just overnight. Just checked the security cam at the front door, 20 cm of fresh snow for sure...still falling. The more South and West you go, the more snow today. I was planning on driving out on the weekend but I think I'll stick to skidoo to avoid the hassle.

I was off a bit. About 12 cms fell in the area. Enough that I'll still be skidooing it this weekend. I don't feel like digging out my truck.

I agree with you completely. I had a great spot in the middle of the lake that always produced but I beat the heck out of my truck the last 3 years trying to get out there. I finally gave up that spot with a truck. I don’t have a skidoo so I took up fishing silver beach. Good luck to you on your hunt for big whites.

Is truck access still decent going on at Mulhurst and heading out to the point at Silver Beach? Just wondering with the possible flood water and recent snow reports, thanks.

Was out of the PP yesterday. Drilled about 25 holes and saw ice anywhere from 14" to 18". Top 2-4"s were the usual crappy stuff but really good below. Ice wasn't talking as much when trucks would drive by.
Didnt see a damn thing on the camera either... 6 hours worth from 6' to 14'. Just shrimp...

Accessed lake at Mulhurst and hit Silver Beach this afternoon for the evening bite., weather was great! Ice was 16-17”(top 2” white)and the trail out was pretty good but you had to watch for drifts once you left the main track to avoid getting stuck. Evening bite wasn’t crazy but we managed to fill our last tags right at dark.....

Yep, those drifts caught a few vehicles yesterday. I also skidooed by a few of them were you could see a long dig had happened earlier...probably the trail blazers. Skidoo was the right choice for me.
Slow day of seeing a few whites. No luck until the last hour. Kind of like what Brandon experienced. Got to watch a huge white take in the hooks I tied
Not sure how big but the fight that followed was amazing. Tank for sure. In the end, wrapped around the transducer I had about an inch below the ice in the Jaw Jacker hole which is about 3 feet away. What are the chances... I usually pull it out as well but didn't and paid the price. Great day though weather wise. Completely worth it.
Ice was close to 20 inches where I was at.
