Nope, SS fired it into his own net in 1986. Brush up on your Battle of Alberta history!

Besides, that was over 30 years ago, Edmonton has electricity now, time to quit living in the dark ages and at move up to the current millennium.

And Edmonton hasn't won a Stanley Cup in this century.

It was a mistake and he knows it. I would have had more respect if he had stepped up and admitted he didn't know the score.

I read some thing about "going for the win"

Thing is, you have to get the tie to go for the win.

Anyone who makes excuses for this poor sack of a coach knows very little about this game.

As well. yesterday was some of the most compelling and eventful football through 2 games I have ever seen. Why on earth would anyone watch the NFL over this?

The 630 Ched announcers had a hard time holding back their displease at the field goal. That was an awful decision and cost them big time. Nobody would blame you if you turned over on downs going for it. Sure bizarre. Not that I care too much as I'm not an esks fan...

Default Maas: ‘I won’t ever regret’ choice to kick late FG

I hope he remembers that when he's flipping burgers on his next job.

3rd and 4 on the 13 yard line 1:56 left in the game
option one
Go for the first down in the red zone if they don't make it Clgy. gets the ball on the 13 yard line.
option 2
Kick the field goal and be 4 points short of a tie Clgy. gets the ball on the 25 yard line with 1:26 left, hope for a 2nout Eskie's get the ball back on their 45 and march down for td to win the game.

The Riders 13 man faux paus doesn't look as bad now

Hahahaha, yeah, right. 13 was just as bad, as was Seattle. This one will live on as Edmonton's moment of infamy.

I don't get Reilly not saying anything. Any team captain/QB should have called a time out, gone over there and at least tried to talk it over. Maas might be that dumb but Reilly isn't. same as Russell Wilson throwing the ball because the play was called that way. As the leader, you gotta step up.

While I agree the talent is not up to NFL standards, the fact that Jason Mass had the option to kick a field goal in that situation is pretty exciting. NFL the game would have been over 2 minutes prior. I can't stand watching 13-9 football games. You can have it. I like our product. Way more exciting to the final whistle

Yes tough loss. Maas had the Dagger in his hand. The monster was against the ropes, all he had to do was finish.

Good point. Junior B hockey players are way more talented than most CFL players. Smarter than some apparently too

I don't think it's just a CFL disease. Pete Carroll (Seahawks Coach) made an equally stupid call in the superbowl against New England a few years back. and that was is the high and mighty NFL that everybody thinks is so wonderful.
