Your favorite fish!?!
Hey guys, been awhile since I've posted and I'm really itching to get out and fish!! Sooooo thought I'd torture my self more by starting this topic. Post your favourite fish you've caught and tell the story!! Heres mine; caught this steelhead this past November and it was fantastic. He jumpped and pulled line like crazy which made it difficult to keep him on with a single barbless hook... :S Lost plenty that weekend but landed this beast. Absolute beauties these fish are. He was the biggest male I've ever caught and I can't wait till my trip this year!

My favorite fish was my first Golden Trout.... not because of the size or even beauty of the fish, but the personal satisfaction it took to research, and then climb to the lake to catch a fish I had been wanting to for about 30 years. It was nice to be successful on my first attempt!

Nice fish guys!!
My favorite would be an extremely hard fighting Chinook caught around Langara island and the first time I was self-guiding up there. Sweet...
Close 2nd is my first time fishing the Skeena last August. This sockeye did some runs through 4 inches of water that was amazing to see.

Nice steelhead! Still on my bucket list. The family took off to Mexico and the only thing I wanted to do was fish for roosters, so four of us split on a guide and as the day goes on 3 roosters are caught 5 hours gone by and I have yet to bring one in.( as an avid angler I decided to go last) by now I'm starting to regret that decision, time is running out, threw Ceasar another 50 and the mission was on.while we trolled he's scanning the water, sees something runs to his bait box hooks a live bait fish tells me run to the front of the boat and pitch it 20 yards out at 11:00 o'clock, hit the water and wow what a battle, took everything i had to hold onto the rod and keep myself in the boat.

21.4 lbs, 43 1/2 " long. Caught this pike at our fly in camp in Northern Sask. I caught her on the edge of a tall reed bed and she immediately swam into cover and wrapped the line around a reed. I was on the motor so my buddy and me swapped ends and he eased the boat in so i could unwrap the line. I was then able to get her into open water and fought her for a few minutes before we netted it. What a rush it was!!!

Beauty man!! I have a couple buddies that have made the climbs to go after Golds and I know it isn't easy!! That's definitly on my "to catch" list.

 wasn't my first, and wont be my last. But man that was a wild fish-a true screamer! Never forget it. Threw out a bait, just set the drag, and was holding the rod when she hit!

Chinook salmon....been on the ocean many times now. My first one hooked just out of Sooke leaped and had the guide exclaiming "that's a 45 pound fish"....within 90 seconds I lost out to a Gawd damned seal- fought it away from me.

Your favorite fish
I've caught over 40 different species of fish, including all Alberta gamefish except a Golden Trout, but my favorite for sure is Smallmouth Bass. Fished for them last spring in southern B.C., and fell in love with them.

Depends on the day. Loves walleyes as that's what I grew up fishing back east but I'm getting more and more into trout fishing these days

Easy for me. This is my PB walleye and still my only walleye to weigh in the teens. It was a couple ounces over 13 lbs. I now live in Fort McMurray but was born and raised in Winnipeg. One year I went home to visit family over the Christmas holidays. my brother, my grandpa and I went out fishing Christmas eve on the red river looking for some big green backs and I Caught and released this beauty! I don't get home often these days, so having caught this fish with my brother and grandpa there to share the moment was priceless, and makes it hands down my favourite fish to date!

I know it is tough to tell, but this is a bear of Slimy Scuplin. I think he came in at a massive 141 mm, stem to stern. Stuff of record books, I tell ya.

The grouper was about 350lbs and did 2 laps around the boat under the anchor rope twice after fighting it off the bottom while my buddy and the guide watched saying you got this. The bull shark was about 9' and 350lb+. Caught that fishing for sailfish on 30lb test light tackle.

I've caught a lot of fish in my life- even killed a bunch of them- and I have to say: my favorite fish is the next one. I live for the hook-set.
