Default Interior BC cabins and fishing

Looking to get away somewhere decent from Calgary and rent a cabin for 3 or 4 days with the gf and dog. Will be taking my boat so I'm looking for somewhere a little bigger as its 18 foot with 150, 9.9 kicker etc. Don't want to do the Kelowna or penticton thing but would like somewhere with some decent bull trout or laker or bigger rainbow fishing as we aren't fly fisherman.

And if you had a smaller boat, Red Lake has some dandy Rainbows and Brookies.

Moondance bay resort bridge lake its close to sheradin and has big lakers my wife won the local derby there with a 26 lbs laker. There are also rainbow and Kokanee and the Kokanee are big aswell. The cabins looked good from what we seen, they have covered fish cleaning tables and freezers for your catch. Great place and many other lakes in the area.

The Interlakes area is awesome and i will be heading up in a few weeks, my family does it every year for two weeks. It is a stretch to get up there though (8-10 hours depending on breaks), so a longer trip may be desirable. Sheridan has big bows but really slow fishing in the summer (I stopped fishing it as have most locals based on my experiences). Bridge, Deka, Sulphorous are close and all have good sized Lakers, Kokanee and Rainbows and similar fishing (good). I've caught Lakers jigging and down rigging, kokanees trolling and rainbows on dry flies all in the same day.

The private cabins do tend to book up quickly, I'm not sure about the resorts but they look busy.

Canim, Horse and Green are bigger lakes to the West with multiple species, lac des roche to the East is a rainbow lake. There are numerous small (electric motor only rainbow lakes) are in the vicinity as well.

I used to fish Mable lake for Lakers and rainbows. Biggest Laker we caught was 12 lbs 4 oz actually won the local derby with that fish. Next year place 2nd with a 11 lb 10 oz laker. Not big fish but a nice mountain lake.
I have caught bigger lakers in Kalamalka lake over 30 lbs and rainbows to 6 lbs.
As for eating the lakers out of Kalamalka don't bother they have a least a 1/2" of fat under the skin.
Don't know about cabin rentals
