Default skunk juice

I caught a couple of skunks today in my live trap,so after drowning them proceeded in using the syringe to get the "good stuff" outta! Got 2 ounces out of the big one and the smaller one maybe a 1/4 ounce. Is 2 ounces the norm for the mature ones ?

I assume you are talking about the skunk spray or scent?

I've never heard of this before and I'm curious why you would want to and what the heck you are going to do with it?

I think so. Guys often sell the stuff for about $30 an ounce. Probly $30 an ounce USD so by rights that would be $40 CDN. So maybe that's why there's 5000 skunks or something at NAFA every year.

Ask Ryan, he is our skunk expert these days. I think he skinned 200+ skunks the one season.

I'd be happy to buy your skunks.

Posted in the General Section under Skunk Apocalypse got one big male last night if someone wants it, he's a bit wet and bagged up for disposal.

Send me a P/M tomorrow otherwise it's gone.

A slight derail question.

Does baking soda set out to remove skunk smell keep its odor over time or does the baking soda somehwhat neutralize?

Reason i ask i have some about 4 kg of it , absorbing the overpowering odor in my cottage and was thinking on keeping it for a cover scent while bear hunting. If i needed , to add some skunk liquid later, that wouldnt be a problem later as i realize more odors will be absorbed as well.

Baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and a bit of dish soap works wonders to get rid of that skunk smell off of a hide (or dog...)

Ha ha. Yes it was Mikki the dog that brought the smell in. Yes i washed her off in baking soda dishsoap and vinegar. I washed everything except around her eyes She was like a wet soapy rat when i had her sscrubbed up. Shes pretty good just the odd hint.

In the summer cabin i have the windows open vinegar out peroxide scrubbed etc the baking soda is absorbing the smell when i am not there. Just curious if it cab be salvaged for giving off scent when the cabin is done with it.

As Rod mentioned, you need baking soda AND hydrogen peroxide,
not vinegar.

When Freshly mixed, this solution produces free oxygen which is what kills the skunk perfume, permanently.
