Default Fish finder

Just a question here but I haven't been out fishing again but I had a question about ice fish finder - sonar- but can a portable boat fish finder be used in the winter on the ice?i have a garmin fish finder 90 that I've never used of course built for a boat.

Yes as long as you have a power supply and a transducer....good to go, some guys rig a board so the transducer goes in a hole and reads below the ice.

Yes, stick the transducer in the hole with the bottom flat, keep your eye on the right side of the screen.

Yep my HDS 8 is on the boat in summer and on the ice in winter.

Should be able to use it. I have rigged three different boat finders to be able to use on the ice. You likely will need a way to hold your transducer level is all. A tee shaped stick to fix your transducer to and level good to go.
