Default 2 piece spinning reel case

Have anyone come across any nice 2 piece travel/storage cases that have a hard shell where the reel sits? I’ve looked around and can’t really find any cases that offer go protection for the reel. Thanks

Most guys will take the reel off and put it in a small hard case, like a Pelican, and the rod goes in a rod tube. The only cases I've seen that can house both are soft sided plano cases.

I use my big pelican rifle case, definitely bulky for just a rod but I had it already laying around for when I shoot. It works pretty well and just barely is long enough for a 7 foot rod

Thats what I used to do but it began attracting a lot of negative attention. Currently I'm thinking of adding some notched PVC to a soft case after my St. Croix rod got crushed this weekend.

Ya this is most likely what I’m going to do, I ordered a nice looking Cabela’s brand case and I’m going to see how I can mod it for extra reel protection.

Well I think I made what I was looking for. Maybe down the road one of these companies will build a two-piece cause that also offers protection around the reel area like the hard cases that come with Oakley glasses.
