Good luck on your hunt. If you have good camo, including a face mask, I have always just sat with a tree to my back and been more mobile. Shooting stick is a must to minimize movement.

Have a great hunt!

They are very perceptive visually, try to minimize movement and be cautious of the little stuff like odd colors or shiny things. I’m not any help on this front but getting permission can be a big factor in your success depending on area.

Default Your using a pop up blind?

Dekes and calls. You have them? Locate them in the evening before the hunt when they are roosting. Use a crow call as a locator call. Back off and set up your blind. Set decoys 30 yards out in direction of where you located the turkeys. Next morning 1/2 hour before sunrise start.calling, Just a few clucks, if a tom responds don't call any more. Turkeys will fly down from the roost at sunrise, they cackle when they leave the roost, so you will hear them. Get ready . Where are you hunting? I can loan you a jake and a hen decoy if you're hunting in the vicinity of Crowsnest Pass.

If you're interested, I did a write up on my Turkey hunt last year. Might have some info that you might find helpful. Not sure how to post a link to that thread, but it was called "An Alberta Turkey Tale". Someone else might know how to link that?

I can also loan a Jake and hen decoy pair, I also have a specific turkey shotgun with patterned TSS turkey loads that I’ve been using for the past 5 years hunting BC you could use if you don’t have one. Located in Calgary.
