Promise there is no photoshopping fella. South of GP 80kms.
He is a regular at work. Guess theres 350/650 grizz here in this neck of bush.

If I get another pic I will post it.

I have posted pics here for years and none misleading. This is legit.

I saw 7 bears last summer, and five was from my deck in Beaver Mines. A sow with two yearlings and a large black bore at one time. More grizzlies than black bears in this area.

One killed a calf near the Bearberry Green houses, about a week ago.

Grizz

Grizz
Not the only one with a taste for beef lately . A sow and 2 cubs made there way into a local farm yard and killed 3 calves that were being raised on a bottle . Another boar was also sighted 10 miles south of there cleaning up a cow carcass . This is out on the prairie and ya I know they were originally a prairie animal , but this goes to show there is an over abundance of them .

Redrock creek area SW of GP was known to be a bad area for lots of Grizz when I worked in that area in the late 90's. I'm sure it's even more so now that the season has been closed for years.....

Hiking up high south of Castle Mountain last year I came within close proximity of 3 grizzlies all within 2km of each other. Biggest bears I have ever seen. I swear one of them was the size of my truck. Thankfully they didn't care much about me due to the plentiful amounts of blueberry bushes but wow were they impressive.

Bears are not true hibernators and will often wake up a couple of times over the course of a winter to stretch their legs.

Black bears and most female grizz will hibernate for entire winter. Male grizz will come out a few times in winter , usually when a warm spell.
