They're in there, just a matter of finding them. Haven't seen anything huge (pike) come out of the hole this year, personally, but have seen 3-4 20+lbers and many in the high-teens on the ice in the past 5 years.

Fishing has been a tough go the past few years with the water fluctuating so much come fall/winter cause of the dam construction. Hopefully this will change next year.

For Travers (or any lake for that matter) your best bet is to download a bathymetric map from the SRD website, and look for bottom structure that would provide for a good feeding ground.

I fished it Saturday with the kids for a few hours and the bite was pretty good. The guy next to me said they caught a walleye around the 15lb mark and a pike pushing 30 lbs.

Didnt see anyone drive on other than a few quads. Ice was 13" thick

Good advice, but anyone using a bath map should keep in mind that the water levels are drastically lower right now than they would've been when the bath map was created.

What part were you fishing? When I past the bay of pigs (northend) I saw quite a few trucks out on the ice near the resort and the very north end.

Obviously but it gives a guy/gal a good starting point on where they should go.
