Default Closed for Pike this year Our fish Management.

Been out to Sylvan, SBuck, Pigeon and a couple of other lakes and noticed all these lakes are zero limit on pike! I was curious and looked at 2017 and 2018 Regs. And after going over page by page lake by lake there is about 70 lakes less now for retaining pike ( jack).
Seems like a hard cut especially if there is small or no perch, no tags or zero limit on walleye! This really limits showing kids what fun it is to catch a fish, how to prepare and cook it, and how good it tastes! If this goes on I can kids growing up now not giving a dam about fishing in the future! u think the tag system is a tax system on fishing because no other province does it. And why are other provinces so much better at managing fish then our province??
Maybe just maybe the Prov. Gov. Doesn’t have the smartest people in control?? The best educated people may not be the most practicable!!!
I’m starting to wonder??

You can catch up by reading a handful of threads:

Point being this has been beat to death on here. And likely to be beat some more on this thread.

Alberta has far less water per person that other province and so fishing pressure is higher. As for other provinces not doing tags they do have extra fees if you wanna keep certain fish from certain water.

Default Senseless

2yrs back just before they closed Badger for 0 pike and walleye (not a walleye spawning lake) my friend and were out for the day and caught over 30 between the 2 of us. The next winter caught my PB. I have fished this lake for over 15yrs quite regularly and have seen little change. I see a tagging system for pike in the very near future!
