About par I would say for most of your builds, maybe even a hair light. You don't exactly go cheap my friend but you do build some really nice bang sticks.

Would you not be better off starting with a 375H&H? Zastava makes them.

Pretty tough to fill that 375 hole in the barrel so the .309 bullets don't just slop around.

Lol I meant getting it rebarrelled but if you are into chewing gum, "bubba" will do the job

The whole idea on rechambers is to take a good barrel in the correct caliber and just run a new clambering reamed into it to end up with a different cartridge choice. Cheaper than a whole new barrel by quite a lot.

I understand that, but I was under the impression that it would take more than just a rechamber job to get a 300H&H to feed well in what was previously say a 30-06.
As well, I hope you took my bubble gum comment for what it was - a joke. It was not a slight and I hope you didn't take it as such. Just a dumb comment about filling up the difference between .375 and .308.

I didnt know you could order a 300H&H Zastava LH...hhmm
I was looking at the LH 375's that tradex has... right action length, right bolt face, just add a new octagon bbl. But then...I might as well build a 275 H&H

Just about ready to head out and try the new girl.
20 test loads done up.
150's
165's
180's
Nothing rip roaring, just nice middle of the road loads.
5 extra 150's to facilitate my hasty break in procedure.
I'll post up a range report as soon as I can.

Those who would be in their ''Right Minds'' would have bought two guns instead of two recoil pads for warm weather and cold weather shooting
Look forward to the range report and see how the bedding job turned out/improved.
Tight Groups Dick.

As promised.
@100yds.
Center group was shot while doing break in and is only 4 shots.
The hi flyer on the top left group was me and squeezing the rear bag.
The lower left groups flyer was me stopping to answer a guys question at the range, and simply messed my form up due to in attentiveness.
Oh for the scourge of 5 shot groups!

Nicely done Dick, and a promising rifle. However, when you squeeze the rear bag, the shot goes low, maybe you were initially squeezing and then let go? ....Just saying, guess how I know.

That's what I did, I squeezed the bag to lower my crosshairs on the target.
The rest is well, bad habits not fully broken I guess.

Sure enough Richard. As one may think that they are so well accomplished and disciplined, every once in a while you catch yourself doing a no-no. Been there, done that and still do it for some silly reason. Good shooting though bud.

lol. Scourge ... 5 shot groups. I know what ya mean. Hate them.
Why I switched to 4 shot groups. At least for initial or 2xs beginning handloads.
Hey I just got a 9.3x62 zastava , been working on loads for that as we'll. mine seems to have a real long throat ... So I gotta play with ladder testing the col.
Is there a limb saver / buttstock pad model that fits this type of rifle does anyone know. ? About 8 shots of load development and my shoulder is almost beat blue. Makes it hard to do an accurate load test. I'm just using irons at 50. But might put a scope on my temporarily to try and raise consistency.

It's fun to watch paper shooters jump on and off technique bandwagons. Laughing.

A PAST strap on pad, in addition to the Limbsaver will make shooting the bigger boomers a lot more pleasant during load development. I use one and I don't care who calls it a Sissy pad.

I wear a PAST shooting pad, for most range work.
This rifle was no exception.

I also wear a Past Pad when shooting the bigger calibers. Being called a sissy don't hurt whatsoever, a bruised shoulder or rattling one's brain hurts a lot more. I don't consider myself recoil sensitive but I don't fancy beating myself up either. Shooting is supposed to be fun.

Never heard of a past pad. Thanks though. I'll look it up. Prolly need one for the upcoming 45-120 load development too.
I emailed limbsaver and said they didn't carry a pad for these models but emailed me back a template to see if one of there's will fit. Just take off the current pad if I can and try to match it to one of the outlines I guess

I always avoid having my bag squeezed when I'm shooting. It makes more than my crosshairs jump.

Boom ... Past pad ordered. Thanks y'all.
9.3x62 , 50 bmg , 45-120 and my 30-06 ( why they kick so much ) load development I hope will be a bit less on the nerves now.
Oh yeah and when you gonna bed / epoxy my zastava D284 ?
Lol. I only looked at the pics of the gun 284 and thought dang that's nice looking wood , I didn't even notice it was lefty. Also like mine. You know I don't think I seen you shoot at the event there. Didn't know you were the minority. Haha. Definatley accurizing my zasatva now. Lol.
So we can adjust the trigger ........ Or is that a bit tricky ?
Lmao when I read the part about recycled hockey puck buttpad. Haha. Yup.
Put up more range report pics later please.
