Default Hitch Game Hoist

Seen these Game hoists that can be mounted to the trailer hitch on my truck. Anyone know where i can find one... in or near calgary? Anybody have any experience with these things? Or any home made hoists out there? Pictures would be cool.

Several here (including me) have made them. Use the search & type in "hoist" or "truck hoist" & they should all come up.

And he drives around all year long with that thing. Kinda like the seniors with the giant flag on thier scooters.

(Don't follow him through any low clearance bridges...)

mine is similar to the on roebag has made, except i can use mine with the tailgate down, and I made it swivel so that I can swing an animal into the box of the truck. One of my huntin' partners added an electric winch (mine is a manual boat winch) but it adds a lot of weight to the unit. Both of us have lifted moose with them, but the height is a little low for it... deer are perfect. Once you use it, it's tough to do it any other way.

Default Garage hoist

Hoist.jpghere is a pic of one I built for the garage...winch on sale at CT for $59...the whole thing ended up costing $73... I have been wondering about one for the field, but the Hook'A'Rack works pretty well and I usually hunt closer to home.

I was just in CTR the other day and noticed their hitch game hoist way in the back hallway. It's not on their website, but I think it was about $200.

I made my first one just over 10 years ago. It worked well enough but I needed to seperate the top from the bottom to fit in my truck box, and it had a few other issues that bugged me. So a few years ago I made a new one, with some changes. It doesnt leave the box of my truck during hunting season.
