Default Reminton 700 firing pin

I have seen this on 2 remington 700's. One is an older. .270. The other is on a new Sendero, 7mmRM.
1. For safety, no cartridge installed.
2. While holding forward on the bolt handle, cycle it fully
up and back down without releasing forward
pressure. Sometime the firing pin will release.
3. None of my sakos or Tikka will do this.
Have any of you guys seen this?

If you lift the handle and close it without intentionally keeping forward pressure does it stay cocked?

Likely your cocking piece isn't offering your sear enough room to come up and engage with the trigger. It can be corrected if it really bothers you.

It sounds like ;
When you are pushing the bolt forward and cocking it is not allowing the cocking piece and sear safety lever ( the sear on the trigger assembly) to engage one another every time .

I have seen Remington 700s that would not engage at all when one lifted and closed the bolt with out drawing it back slightly.

Issue can be repaired if you feel it necessary to do so

Yeah, the bolt has to be drawn back about 1/16 to1/8"back before it will engage

yes I have dealt with that before . Not that unusual and should not give any performance issues
