I've got a campsite booked for first weekend in June. Will likely be the one and only time I fish Cold this summer. Hopefully the weather and the fish cooperate.

Baywood if you want to have direct access to long bay and out to the big water....might be worth looking into.

Well the ice is moving around, we had a good south wind and it opened up areas but be careful if the wind shifts your might be in a predicament.....

Just checked and now the lake is open but there could still be the possibility of ice chunks floating around so be careful!!!!
Opener is forecasted for rain but hopefully that changes.

The lake did not disappoint....just targeted gators and it was non stop action....ended up going to Len Thompson 5 of diamonds 00,
For some reason they did not like the larger spoons etc.
Was windy but fun.

no...day two was the same we got into gators and was hoping for 40"er but only tied into a 36"er...played the bay for water temp changes and depths out into the big water which took time...a poop load of small gators which was fun too.
I know there was a few good ones caught, walleye too....didnt talk to any laker fans but I am sure a few were caught, maybe someone will chime in.
Heard from a fella that the provincial park boat launch wasn't in which torqued a few with bigger boats....
Also got a little distracted farting around with my new Hummingbird Helix 7....not a techy guy so a lot of head scratching

we didn't have Len Thompson spoons in these colors but had a cheaper version that worked well....as you can see the wolf packs had a good go at them!

slower day for myself, handful of hammer handles and one lake trout in the boat. Didnt get to explore as much as I would have liked and that sand bar was real shallow, but still a fun day!

Going out for may long and taking the boat. have actually never fished this lake open water but I hear spring time is your best bet for the lakers without downriggers. Thought about trolling some flashy spoons or deep diving cranks off the dropoff. Might dropshot off there too. Would love any advice I could get, will probably be pike fishing too if I stink at laker fishing.

pink lady/diver to get down to 30-40' or so then a spoon would work just ensure you have multiple colors to change up.
I run all season 4" hot spot apex lures in various colors with lots of success.

Heard the lakers were non stop in fishy area's....I didn't partake due to the long wk-end area getting crowded but snuggled into a lake with little to no one out and we slammed the pike.....all smeadiums but was a blast.
