I watched the water the days you were out …crazy but you got a big boat and finding a leeward side to enjoy the catch was always a possibility just getting there would have been interesting….

Your right they stack up thick as thieves in some areas just was hard for my runner to stay on the stack when the wind was picking up

Had a great season though lots of laughs both on and off the lake!

It was nice meeting you Greg ,but it was to rough for me also .
I moved over to a non windy area and fished for pike with a few friends from cold lake . Might return for hard water and see if I can catch the big one !

Reading this thread as it progressed, I am looking even more forward to trying Cold Lake for Lake Trout. I have done very little fishing the past several years, but next year, I am going to change that.

Awesome....let me know when you plan on coming down and I can hook you up with a few early and late season spots that have worked for me over the years!

There is a lot of spots on that lake . Been fishing it for 30 years .
One week the fish are there then the next week they are some where else.
I guess they just follow those cisscos all day !

There are some funny looking fish under the fuel pump in the main marina in town ,about 5 of them . Do you know what they are . They are about 8 inches long . Very dark looking .

i wonder if that fish cop will give you a fine if you are targeting them .
I know that one guy is a jerk . gave my buddy a $400 fine when fishing hard water and the laker was a 1/16 under . tried to tell him the fish was 50 % frozen and it measured right on when we caught it .
Buddy was from BC so it was not worth it for him to return to fight it in court and the cop new it .

Well that sucks, I tell people to not even fart around with fish on or near the size limit, inch over or more just so there are no issues etc

And regarding the lakers during the 0 retention it is just that but you can still fish for them but most are out enjoying the fall hunting etc
