Default Pigeon Walleye Techniques

Heading up to Pigeon for the first time and hoping to catch some walleye. Any suggestions for techniques that have been the most successful recently? Jigs and minnows? Leeches under slip bobbers? Trolling? Crankbaits?

Open to any and all suggestions to help me hook into a walleye. Thanks!

All of the above will work. Pigeon is a healthy fishery . A lot of fun. The main set up is vertical jigging with a chartreuse jig head and jig tail tipped with a minnow . (Have had good luck on purple lately) . Good luck !!!!

All of your ideas should work. As for trolling, large lip crankbaits in chartreus or perch colors skipped across the bottom in 12-16 fow has produced well for me through the season. Water temps are still relatively cool. Good luck.

If you can find some structure a jig and minnow will always work out there. There will be lots of boats out there so you should be able to have a general idea of areas of where to fish if you havent been there before.I have great luck trolling a bottom bouncer with a plastic nightcrawler just about anywhere in the lake as well.Best of luck to ya and if you need some more info just pm me.

When you locate active fish - a jig with a minnow (or other bait) is hard to beat.

When fishing is slow, or you are trying to locate fish, or try and make them bite, bottom bouncing slow speed may be the ticket ..... lindy rig, shakee blade, etc... tiped with bait.

That seems to usually out fish in the boat. If the fish are inactive, crankbaits (at the speed they need to be pulled to impart an action) can be a challenge.
