Default Pigeon

Heading to Pigeon later this week for some walleye and whites. Haven't been down there for a few years, any suggestions on where to head?

Mulhurst? Mameo? Like i said, it's been a while. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Those spots are still pretty popular. We fish mostly mid lake stuff, but there were some pretty good "roads" to the popular spots in the Mullhurst/Sandholm areas. Not sure about the Mameo end, we never went down that far.

Was out yesterday for the aft & eve. Pretty slow but caught a few jack (had a good 1 snap me off) & the walleye bite just at sun down was good! Caught a few nice 1's. Ranged from 8-14 FOW....

Buddy and I were out last Wednesday. Drove out from the provincial park. Filled my 2 class A tags by 8:30. 52.5cm and 56.5cm. Caught a few more...some pike but too small. Had lots of fun though.

The heave is pretty large, but there were still a few trucks out there

We drove out yesterday, but I would avoid going to the right of the launch, as it looks like some water is coming up through

Was out last night and Friday night out by the Provincial Park. The heave at the PP isn't bad at all, just go around it. Minimal snow on the lake as well, had my truck in 2wd and it was fine. Also ended up packing up and just driving straight across the lake last night instead of going around, just drove right across to Mulhurst to head home.

Had really good numbers and size of fish.

Was super tired towards the end of last night though, wow.

Lots of trucks on the ice, my truck plus my buddy had his F-150 out in our area, another F-150 then 2 Chev's were out as well. More ice than you can shake a stick at, fluctuated in thickness though. Drilled on the 4ft area with a total of 24" then where it drops to 19 feet to find 16" of ice.

I'm headed to Pigeon on the 15th and 16th with the wife and kids. I've got Class C tags I'm going to try and fill and hopefully get the kids onto a school for some fun.

When fishing through the ice on Pigeon I typically fish a glow in the dark 1/4 oz jig head tipped with two minnows and generally have good luck. I'll add a stinger if the bite is light. I generally have success with this approach but I'm just curious what other set-ups, lures, etc. some of you have had luck with.

I haven't even seen a whitefish all year sadly.

I do not think I fish deep enough to see them though.

Never tried for them either.
