300 Weatherby Reloading Advise???
I'm looking at Reloading and was wondering Who's got any experience with Bergers...particularly with the VLD's. it would be for hunting and was looking at shooting the 210gr vs the 175gr cause of the BC. And if anyone has any advise on powder as well that would be great.

IMR 7828 is what I found works best in my 300 Wby Mag

In a 300 wby I typically have always used H4831 and try to go with the SC

I used 80.5 gr of H 4831 in my 300 wby with 180gr nosler partitions, federal 215 primers. Worked best in my gun over other combinations.

Reloader 25 seems to do the charm in my Weatherby.
Just make sure you have a long enough barrel to complete the powder burn with R25.

I had good success with using 77g of H4831 behind the 210g berger. C.O.A.L ended up being 10 thous less than mag length or else ended up with a single shot running 10 thous off the lands. The rifle was a buddies weatherby mark5 with 26" barrel. Recorded velocity for that load was 2875fps with an ES of 19. Was able to produce a 3Shot 9/16" group at 100 yards. Probably could do better with more tweaking but was quite acceptable for what the rifle was being used for. There was no signs of pressure but when i tried to push the round harder the ES got noticably worse and obviously the groups opened up. The shooter was fortunate enough to take a bear at just over 400yds and it was DRT. Good luck.
P.S Was gonna try some H1000 but the owner was happy with the initial results.

I've had the barrel replaced with a sheilen barrel, 26" long plus the muzzle break with a 1:11 twist. So I dont mind shooting a heavier bullet like 200gr - 220gr. Relaoding is such a pain.....soooo much tinkering around. Good thing I got a buddy who's gonna reload for me
