- Bushnell Sport 850
- Use it from the stand, also while walking around, even when not hunting, to improve my guesstimating skills.

No, I don't use a range finder for bow hunting.
Shooting a longbow and only shoot at animals in my comfort zone.(instinctual shooting) I shoot a few arrows at various things soon as I get into my stand just to be sure.

A b and c
I dont take shots over 40 yards, imo you should be able to determine how far 10,20,30,40 yards is without using one.
For "glassing" purposes i use cheap 50$ bushnell binoculars.

Yes
Leupold RX 1000 with angle compensation.
I need it because I am a lousy estimator of range. Can't count the times I thought an animal was "a couple hundred yards" away, ranged it, and found that it was 400 or 500 yards away. Scary!
Unless I can hit it with a rock I range it.

Range Finder
Yes, Nikon Archer's Choice, range when in stand as soon as I get in there to mark of yardages to certain landmarks. When I am stalking I tend to range if I have the opportunity.

Need binos and range finder so bought a bino that has range finder in it. No way I'm rangin' an animal at close distance when I should be knowin' the distance already and shootin'..............that's in a stand or blind of course.

#1 Yes
#2 n/a
#3 Vortex 1000
#4 When I set up in a spot I will range: trees, stumps, bushes, cut lines, to what ever to get an idea of my "situational awareness" to shoot. So "A"
On a side note I will range for funzies in camp and whatever.
I dont range before every shot when an animal is present for me, adrenaline is pumping and time is a factor I'm calulating in my head.

Leica geovid hd-b
Range before calling sequence to verify estimated ranges
Range after estimating random objects as I travel on foot for practice.
Generally never range when an animal is in sight. Already estimated.
