Default tip up line?

Was wondering what kind of line to use on my tip up for pike this weekend? I tried loading monofilament line but it unravels to fast.

I use the Black braided "Ice line" With 4-8 feet of mono as a leader. But there are probably better ways. RH

Default tip up line

I like 75 lb Braided dacron Black ....with leader to match the situation ...

walleyes 6 or 8 lb mono

pike steel leader to match

Small diameter line + big pike = cut hands ...

dont worry about the mono leader, pike will cut it iff they swallow the bait too far. They are far from line shy anyways, I use 45 pound black nylon braid with either a snap swivel or leader tied directly on.
