And also - going for an afternoon fish at chain lakes, might bring a propane stove to have a little afternoon fry on the lake. If anyone wants to meet up, let me know. Will be aiming to be on the ice by no later than noon. Leaving around 4:00.

From what I understand, it will be fish nearly nonstop

So chain lakes was fun on the 22nd- got into a few rainbows really easily. Kept one about 11" for the bbq at my mothers place. Lots of people on the ice, I only stayed for about 2 hours as I was a bit under the weather!
Got really windy around 13:45 and I decided to call it a day!

So now, I've caught rainbow, brook, pike, walleye and burbot through the ice. So far so good. Now I need to find some browns, goto lower K for bulls and find a nice spot for cutties through the ice Did I mention I've NEVER caught a brown? elusive bastards

don't think i'd brave the bows ice anywhere... I fell through it too many times as a wee little one living in dewinton near policemans back when winters were cold enough to freeze the bow over

Default Taking a few days off - Need IFA - going through withdrawl

Well, Today I got posession of my new home. What a day it has been! Never knew a Power Steering pump in a mitsubishi could be 1600$... Good thing I drive a GM, and let the GF know that all the time! Gas money's short, so I might be staying super close to home, or hitching rides for homemade chili / buns & baileys!

Was out last week testing out the new buddy heater in the tent and absolutely loved it! What a great thing. Should I get a heat shield to go behind it, or are they relatively safe? I was keeping it about 1' from the wall of the tent.

Just put a new to me power steering assembly in my van. Parts $90. It's a mazda.

Well, just get up to my place and we'll take my beige minivan. Already got the buckets in the back.

Whens the big move?

50% moved already. Furnature in the morning and never looking back to living under a condo board... kiss my arse condo boards So sick of idiots doing things and never getting fined, letters, anything. Once in my own house, I can live in peace, nobody above, below me.

Neighbors seem nice, the community seems like its developing nicely... the lake is finally open (no fish until 2014 at mahogany ) but its exciting We'll have you and the wifey over sometime bud!

Does Mahogeny have a community association?

And don't worry, there'll be perch in there in no time.

see if you can catch a ride down to Newell Saturday, bunch of forum people coming down. I wouldnt worry about burning down your tent with the heater, Even my sunflower is fine a couple feet away from the tent, the buddies are even better. Just make sure your propane is screwed in tight, a propane explosion first thing in the morning is good to wake you up in a hurry, but not so much fun if you are inside congrats on the move, its so much better when the only footsteps you hear upstairs are birds on the roof!

Thanks fish - I'm glad people read up! The ongoing saga of warm weather has me torn between the bow (economically my first choice due to gas and a mortgage now) or driving to ice. Might start hitting chester-slough to find some wee little pike to play with!

Not yet buddy - basement undeveloped so I guess that counts as my fishing room!

Thanks Wayne - Hopefully we can catch up again this winter. I'm sure we will have a good time at the b&g club event - as well as following it, and perhaps even the night before. No birds in this community yet except for the sh!thawks. No trees or vegetation for them really to live off of until we go planting crazy this summer... which will cause my flyfishing / spinning season to be cheaaap!

Well, the move went great and I'm ready to go again. If anyone wants to head out, pm me. I'm available this week WED/THU/FRI - need to be home by 4pm due to hockey committments.

Hope everyones having a good season!
