Question Ramshot Powder?

Hi all

I've been looking around the Edmonton area at the selection of powders available, and I can find all but one of the ones I've decided to try.

I can't find ANY Ramshot powder at all. The one I'm most interested in is Ramshot 'Hunter'. Does anyone know of anyone in mid-Alberta area that sells Ramshot?

Thanks

-FL

Hey thanks Rena

I phoned ProLine today. They DO stock Ramshot powder. They have just about every flavor of Ramshot in existence, I think, EXCEPT 'Hunter' and another I had been somewhat interested in... 'Big Game'.

But... since they DO sell Ramshot, I'll just phone them once in a while and see, when their next shipment comes in, if they get those two in as well.

For now... still looking, if anyone else knows of another source...

Try phoning Battle River Sports in Stettler, they usually have some in stock when I'm through there.

Thanks CaberTosser

They have no 'Hunter', but they DO have 'Big Game'... 3 jugs of it left. Hmmm. MIGHT have to chance a road trip...?

Odd... a number of places have 'Magnum', and that SHOULD work in my rifle, at least for the heavier bullets, but I can't find any load info indicating this has been tested, and I'm not experienced enough to do any experimentation

A note... I phoned Corlane in Dawson Creek.. I missed 12 cans of 'Hunter' by a week. Somebody took it all. Dang...

Appreciate the responses guys!

I grabbed 3 lbs of Ramshot while in the states last August, before the "shortage" that the best gun salesman (Obama) in the US brought about. It was only 15.99 or 16.99 a lb at Sportsmans warehouse!!

I'm loading for a .325 WSM. I've been using 4350 for smaller bullets (180s), 4831 for 200s and 220s, and 7828 for 220s. It seems like the bigger the bullet, the slower it wants the powder, generally speaking.

Yes.. it seems like a lot of people view it as a "bargain" powder, a kind of last ditch alternative; but from what I've been reading, it could become something of a favorite, and not just for the price. The savings would to me just be a bonus

Thanks guys!
