Default Looking for help planning summer canoe trip

My brother in law and I want to do a trip this summer where we can canoe and fish in the day and camp at night. We have all our camping and fishing gear.

Where can we go to rent a larger canoe and any suggestions on where to go to camp along the way? We live in Calgary area.

Lakeland Provincial Park up near Lac Labiche is a nice trip by canoe.
I've been 4 or 5 times in the last few years.

I don't know where to rent canoes though...

Valhalla Pure in Red Deer rents canoes.
Pick almost any lake with access in Meadow Lake Provincial Park. Waterhen is a good one.

Default Here's where you go....

If you are in Calgary you need to rent from the University of Calgary outdoors program. I've rented canoes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, etc. They have everything you need, low price, and they don't rent junk. Good quality equipment. You can also rent tents, stoves, just about anything for outdoor adventure.

Heck, you could also take a canoeing course from them in preparation. I took white water kayaking with them. Outdoor first aid, etc. It's a great resource.
