Default Sylvan lake

I'm planning to go out onto the ice on sunday, does anyone know and good spots to catch big walleye and quality pike? I got skunked again fishing for whitefish so I decided to go for the big guys.

I don't think you will find "big walleye" in sylvan. Biggest I've seen in three years is a 3 pounder. That's between 10 guys and hundreds of walleye each. Pike on the other hand...there are some pigs swimming around.

I am also interested in Sylvan lake fishing. We're planning to head out there tomorrow for the day and I've never been before so I don't know where to start looking for the big pike I've heard about.

Best place to start looking is a depth map. Google depth map Sylvan Lake, and there'll be one that comes up. Look for potential structure and spots you think fish might be. That's where you begin...hunting is half the fun!!!

Walleye in sylvan are your average 18in, you get in to the 20s your doing okay. Theres lots of them and fun to catch but if your looking to catch better eyes theres other lakes to try. Pikes on the other hand theres some monsters. Most are well educated tho, but i land one over 40 every year.

That's a nice catch. Well we went out and only saw 2 perch on the camera all day. Not much action for anyone near us that we know of either. Drove onto the ice off RR23 and set up near all the other shacks. Was trying in about 12ish FOW. Did hear a couple other guys saw a monster jack swimming around the area though.
