Default Wessex Game Birds closing

The owners of Wessex Game Birds told me that unless they can find someone to continue the business they will be retiring after 27 years in the game bird business at the end of April 2018. The owners, once their "golden handcuffs" are removed, plan to spend more time with grandchildren, golfing, travel, fishing and hunting. I'll certainly miss the place if it does close as I spent many enjoyable hours in the past 25 years that I used the facility to train 3 Brittanys, and entertain family and friends while hunting there.

Default wessex

Certainly a loss for the community. There is a calling for this type of business. People looking to train new dogs can get years of experience in short time, over more birds than their dogs would likely see in a lifetime under normal field conditions. I enjoy visiting these sites as a great way to meet up with other people of like minds who hunt and run their dogs. A great social outing.
Hopefully someone picks it up!

Thumbs up Wessex Game Birds is staying open

I just heard Wessex Game Birds is going to be staying open under new management. It is good to hear I have always enjoyed going out there to work with the dogs. I was told to keep an eye on the website for an anouncment of the changes.

Good news, thanks for the update.

I was going to call them and see if they're still open as I'd like to do some off-season training with my dog this spring.
