Do you mean baby corn? Yeah - used that loads when I was a kid, works a treat on trout. Also a pair of maggots (any colour, but pink seems to work well in Alberta/Canada).
Only used powerbait a few times before - it seems to do the job as well as anything else.
Also, tiny hooks - I've seen people fishing for trout with whopping great hooks - and they're the ones wondering why nothing is biting!

The 100% Best Bait that your can use for Trout is there Row (eggs).If you catch a Female,that you keep and it's full of eggs,keep the eggs and make little "Baggies" useing orange nylon.Ice fishing in the winter with this bait you get a bite everytime you put your hook down the hole!!!

x2 eggs. The fish GO CRAZY. I had a frenzy last year... as soon as you dip it in the water you see like 10 fish around it. Everytime. Although that being said, it depends on the lake and the time of year. Anything pink which was said earlier seems to work well. Shrimp works great as well... I buy shrimp cocktail rings, and i break them in half. the tail end always works better, especially when you take off the tail.

And GOD made worms and saw that they were good!
After worms or leaches I like little strips of chicken skin with a bit of fat attached. They stay on the hook really well (better than leaches for sure) and work just about as well as worms.

Agreed, their eggs are best, however not always available. After that, for sure my best success comes with fishing pink powerbait when it comes to Rainbows anyway.
Cheers n GL!

Worms, somedays powerbait does seem to get more hits but they can steal it easyer so I think I still hook more fish useing worms. Grasshoppers work awesome sometimes as well. Use a small enough hook that they can still float and hook them lightly in the collar so they dont die and can kick around, use a casting bubble to get them out there. In streams using any hellgramites you can find can be deadly.

Trout make me chuckle. It seems that if you coarse fish, you can put anything (almost literally) on your hook and they'll take it.
As soon as you switch out to a fly rod, you need a masters degree in trout psychology to get them to take a fly.
Why are they so fussy about flies, but greedy pigs for anything else?

For pond rainbows here's the hit list;
1. Pink/White sparkle power bait
2. Mold some Velvetta cheese (from a block) around a hook or cut it into small cubes
3. Berkley pink maggots
4. Eggs in a jar (yes, you guessed it, pink is the color)
