Can't find a deer you shot, now what?
Just hypothetically speaking, what are your obligations when you shoot a deer, but can't recover it?
What are the laws involved?
If you shoot a deer and find it's head a year later, would fish and wildlife give you a found dead permit for it, knowing that you shot that deer? Could you get a ticket for wasting the meat? Should you throw your tag away knowing that you killed a deer that year?

You post on AO being purposely vague about...everything, asking if anyone happened across a dead deer somewhere in the province with a head and possibly an arrow attached. Get with the program dude. Jeez. Some peoples kids.

We're not talking about that other thread.
This is a hypothetical situation where you shoot a deer, lose it, and then find it's rotten head a year later.

Not sure what the legalitys are, but I'm not sure I'd be bragging up a set of antlers from a deer hunt I badly screwed up. JMO.
Used to know a guy who had a fantastic WT head mounted on his wall, everyone who ever saw it was impressed... untill he told the story. In short form they had chased the thing across a field with a truck and eventually taken a stupid shot, then lost the thing. A neighbor found it dead several days later, and a different cape had been procured for the mount. I dont think anyone who knew the story was at all impressed with that head, and the act of proudly putting it on display seemed to be almost the most questionable detail of the whole BS incident. Food for thought.

Yeah, Bob closed that other thread for a reason. Trying to keep the troll going in a not so subtle fashion is bad form. Let it die. Go outside. Hunt. Do something.
Or, try again and see what happens.
