Default Difficulty tuning PSE X-Force

I've been shooting an xforce for about a year and a half now and by shooting I mean very poorly. The rig is a 70 lb dream season with mostly PSE components and carbon force 300 STL arrows, unreal speed and trajectory but it just wont group. I have tried everything I can think of to improve my grouping from minor draw weight and length adjustments to changing rests (multiple drop away's) and releases, anchor points, grips, peep sights and pretty much everything else with little to no improvement.

I have been shooting PSE bows for over 10 years now and I can honestly say that I have never had tuning issues, I love their products. I have harvested big game with all my previous PSE rigs and I am having difficulty believing that I am the problem. Has anyone else experienced similar problems with an xforce? I love what the bow has to offer but if I cant get some arrows touching soon I am affraid that I might be trading her in on a single cam. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

im am quite sure you will need a stiffer arrow. try the same arrow in a 400 shaft size.

Have you checked the timing on your cams , quit often one cam is out of tune with the other . What about center shot ?? I know with the more aggresive bows they are definately harder to control , because of the brace height the are way less forgiving .

Yeah I was thinking about trying a stiffer arrow and now that you mention it that does make sense.

As far as cam timing goes the bow is equiped with timing marks on each cam and I always ensure that they are alligned.

Thanks for the advice!

Is this the first speed bow that you have shot? The brace height can be a big change if your not used to it. My past 4 bows have all been aggresive short BH bows so i am used to it and have had zero issues shooting the XForce.

Hey CLM, You need to get that bow to a dealer so they can check the order (sequence of the limbs) each limb has a deflection number written on the inner side of the limb and they need to be in a specific order. Every X-Force I checked last year I had to change the sequence of the limbs. Once that was done the bows tuned quite easily. If your in the Whitecourt area let me know and I would be happy to check your bow over. Thanks Len

Default Timing

Have a friend come over and have him pull back your bow while you watch your cams and see if the timing is out.If your familiar with re-setting them that should eliviate your problem, otherwise have one of your local archery shops lend you a hand.

I found this out at my local shop so I
will try and tell it like I heard it;
Those timing marks show the cams position
'at rest', which doesn't mean anything when
the bow is at draw. If one/more of the
string/cables is stretched or not twisted
correctly the 'draw' timing will be out.

Im no expert but I took this as good advice.
The bottom line here is; have the bow
checked on a press or proper timing machine.

I was told from few guys that shoot those x forces. Is that you usually have to drop your draw weights by quite abit to get your groups back. my one friend dropped his 11 pounds! to get the point where he was consistant with it.

Just curious, what's a "proper" timing machine? AFAIK sticking a bow in a draw board will get it close but you still need to fine tune it by having the archer shoot it. About the same as lining up the marks at rest, unless of course there's a limb, string or cable out of spec. Then all bets are off.
