Sorry bud, but nope.

I really can’t stand Flames fans. Cept mebee some o you guys.

Specially ones that pay up!!

He heeee!

Actually, I’m probably going to ignore hockey and not watch the playoffs. My trail running season is coming up fast... last years playoffs buggered my training... and I paid for it big time in my races.

I have to lose 15-20 on two months... Time to concentrate on me...

IF WE ARE out.......

Speaking of having to dump some weight..... SN article about Lucic.

Quote:
Can this big, Serbian body show up at camp 12 pounds lighter in September?

“I can, and that’s what I have to do, Yes. I agree with you on that,” he said. “I have been changing my diet. Not even next summer. Right now is where (the transformation) needs to start, for me to continue producing at a high level.

“I weighed in at camp at 236. Right now I’m 238. I have to get down to 225. It’s just a matter of will and want. Wanting to.”
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/o...adapt-new-nhl/

Too put it mildly, Lucic is not doing well.
If he can lose/redistribute some weight, he may gain some footspeed and get his career back on track. IMO, he has one of the worst contracts in the NHL and it is in his (and the Oilers) best interest to take steps to bring his contribution/production more in line with what he is paid.

Default Physical Game

I feel like when Lucic actually plays his style of game, physical, lots of body checking, he can be very effective. It's just that he doesn't play that way most games... But that's just my opinion.

I watched him lots last night.

He can’t be a stationary ‘post’ at the blue line. Too many times I’ve seen him stationary.... you have to time your glides and always be moving.

I believe he’ll slim up.

But he’s gotta get some hands..... he can’t handle a pass... these are skills a guy can learn.

And yes.... his line needs to be him, Drai, and is stick Kass there as well.
Third line.... hidden scoring line.

Bang, crash, and punish.

The game turned a bit when he smashed a couple guys.

Guys r sayin it’s a speed game now..... they’re forgetting.... you smash a small fast team... and get that threat in their head... it’ll stop em.
That’s what ya gotta do with Vegas.

Calgary’s team is a bunch o fraidy cats..... you smash the kids... it’s game over.. they turtle.

Do that to a lot of teams this year and you’d have success.

Looch’s contract is not good for us... agreed.

Looch needed to do more ‘message’ hits this season on skilled players.

I think he’s hurt (concussions) and he is hesitant to bring that part of his game much.

The issue isn’t just the skating, he can’t process the game at the pace it’s played at now. How many times do you see lucic try to muscle the d-man wide, hit the brakes and throw a blind pass into the middle of nowhere. Happens at least 5 times per game. Big, slow, strong power forwards are a thing of the past, skill, speed and finesse is the game now and he can’t compete. But with that being said he’s on pace for another 45-55 point season so how much should we really be expecting out of him.

At 6 million a year how about a little leadership? its sad if a 55 point output for the year with nothing more is good enough for 6 million a year. LOL

I would take a Matt hendricks over Lucic all day long. Lucic hasnt evolved with the game and has got worse. A 12 pound weight loss wont save him. Its much bigger than that.

Not disagreeing that he’s overpayed, but as bad as he is he’s still 4th in team scoring which is an embarrassment. He was brought here for leadership and protection and very rarely that is displayed. Big George hit the nail on the head, I can only name two players on that team who seem to play with heart. The rest of the boys need a “heart transplant” lol.

Well...... IF

Shleppy, Caggiula, Strome, Letestu, and Cass scored around 15 goals like Chirelli was betting...?

We’d be golden

If Drai had some fortitude and scored pp goals

We’d be golden

Chi Chi gambled

And lost big time.

Too bad really.

Stick a fork in them Bessie....you'll see they're done. They are about 20 points out of being a 'likely' playoff contender. I don't think any team has historically turned a season around from where the Oil are to make the playoffs.

Sorry bud.

Looch is being misunderstood this year. He knows and admits he has to change his body and quicken his skills on ice. He reminds me of Frank" "The Big M" Mahovlich.. I used to play right wing with him

They've lost five straight. To have a realistic chance, they have to go 24-2.

The statistical branch of math, says a team that has played 0.446 hockey for the first 56 games of the season isn't going to play 0.923 hockey for the next 26 games.

So how many times has Talbot given up a goal on the first shot of the game this year? Including today against the Mighty Coyotes?

I also really enjoyed the give and go, Russel from behind net to Camelleri, he drops it back to Russel, Russel back up to Camelleri and hits him in the HEAD with the pass! You can't make it up...!!!

No. They didn't 'got this'. They just got shut out by the last place team in the league, for their sixth straight loss...

How 'done' does it have to get, Bessie?

It is what it is...

Fundamentals;

1) huge fan following = nothing
2) top of line arena = nothing
3) extreme ticket cost = nothing
4) multi million dollar payroll = nothing
5) putting on a game face for the media = nothing
6) new mascot Hunter = nothing

7) working in the most northern NHL city = something

8) getting shut-out by the yotes = everything
9) poison in the organization = everything

10) people paying to watch this dribble = go shovel your neighbors sidewalk

Moving to Seattle....

Can't get another first round draft pick if you start beating the worst team in the league. You need to be the worst team in the league. Just sayin
Man you watch McLovin at the end of a shift skating back to the bench, he is one miserable dude. Does not look happy at all. Kinda feel for him..
NAH no I don't..
