Little difference - TBA and the Unions are both PACs who are allowed way to much leeway to shill on behalf of their respective politicos.
Calgary-Glenmore is between a rock and a hard place. A UCP incumbent who is a Kenney person but willing to ride with Smith/TBA to save her own skin. She was apparently a part of the still unresolved investigation re Kenney’s run for the leadership so comes with baggage. Then we have a new NDP candidate with 15/yrs experience in oil and gas but as a vociferous opponent to oil and gas. With her post graduate education, she could easily end up as Energy Minister in an NDP gov’t. Both of these choices are, in their way, likely to be toxic for AB.
Probably a best case scenario is that the UCP gets in with a small majority and then dumps Smith forthwith before she does some serious damage to AB. My guess is that there are not enough UCP Mia’s with the guts to get this done.
It would be great if the 50 something per cent of eligible voters who do not vote get themselves informed and vote for the local candidate who is likely to be the less toxic for AB in the longer run.

100% disagree
Before I enter into a discussion first thing first

Far more extremists Lefties in the NDP but why spoil a good story?
Can't think of a single time, when radical UCP party members stormed a stage? But if we had, I am sure we would have had our protest sign, right side up.

Liberals just held a convention and came up with some new ideas.
Freedom of press should be done with. The western provinces, Alberta and Saskatchewan should be more like Toronto.
Federal NDP and Alberta NDP are the same, they will support this.
NDP getting power in the province will do nothing to stand up to federal government.

They are as gullible as the morons that continue to support the Turd. They will still vote NDP, no doubt.

No money needed - campaign promises are just smoke in the wind.

Latest polls have them neck & neck. or Rachel with a slight lead.
Can't believe it.

Oh, I’m sure they’re salivating at the prospect of a PST. Suspiciously missing from their campaign…but it’s a foregone conclusion that they’d implement it if given the chance.

And Notley is still not a better alternative and you get major federal NDP influence with her as it’s part of their charter
So yeah especially when voting NDP you are voting for everything that comes with that party
I am not a Smith fan but I will still be voting UCP because of the lack of a better option

I can. We're in the "weak men" stage
More worried about subsidized/cheap high speed internet and free education for upcoming cultural anthropologists than a booming economy

I would say that is basically our options for politicians in Canada. We are truly picking the best of the worst
In all honesty when I seen the UCP line up I was not impressed they need new blood
But when I see the NDP candidates I just shake my head and go wow theses people are the polar opposite of my personal values
I will vote UCP but it’s not because I think they are going to do an amazing it’s because I know the NDP will have more of a negative impact on my finances and lifestyle. If there was a better option I would vote for them but there is not
Really we seem to have more people getting into politics focusing on stupid social issues instead making sure Canada and its provinces/territories thrive. It’s seems to be too much to ask for a government that manages in a non biased manner that focuses on economics and infrastructure instead of petty social garbage

Just some food for thought! who do you think will have the ear of Ottawa when PP wins? Truly dumb is down in the polls even in Turdonto. Might be something to keep in mind if you really think Nutley and Sing song sing are your best choice for Alberta' s future.

I really don’t understand how a solid blue province federally can even consider Rachel Notley. If you don’t like Trudeau you shouldn’t like Notley.
I think what a lot of people don’t realize is that the NDP are the party of radicals. Let me explain if you’re a hard core eco activist who knows the Green Party wont win who are you voting for? If you’re a hard core PETA person who’s your political party? If you’re a Marxist what party are you voting for?
These are the people behind the NDP who actually run the party. They’re radical activists. They’re not your average centrist political party like the Alberta Party or UCP.

Very true, if you actually like Trudeau, then Notley should be your choice, if you hate Trudeau, then she should be your absolute last choice.

It’s no different than last time the NDP got power the UCP had some screw ups that angered voters so a portion are just voting against them without truly considering the NDP and their platform. They think they are going to get back at the UCP for their screw ups by punishing themselves
Most don’t vote by logically weighing out what the parties offer but instead most just vote out of anger they have towards the other party. This goes for voters of all parties in both federal and provincial elections
I see this with all ages and all walks of life

The problem is no matter how mad you are at the UCP because of the last 3 years. Make no mistake the NDP would have made things worse for everyone.

It will be a sucky next term, IMO. But i feel that UCP winning by one single vote would be our best path forward.
