Default Two gas tanks?

Hey guys

I'm wondering if I connect two gas tanks to my motor with a Y-fitting, will the motor suck from both tanks without any further modifications?

Thanks guys

The issue I'd wonder about is what happens if one tank empties out, and the engine starts sucking up big chunks of air inbetween slugs of gas from the other tank...

it should be fine this is how it's done on big rigs but they also have a breather for the tanks so they will actually balance out

Yes there is a line to balance pressure/vaccumn in the two identical tanks at exactly the same height. Even these will occasionally air lock the fuel filters.

If this is what you are doing it will work most of the time. Otherwise you will need to switch between tanks.

Yes we need more details. Is it a rocket or a moped?

It will work as long as you have the same head press in both tanks, and line lengths are the same with the same restriction, but it's easiest to just install a solinoid switch between the tanks.
