Default So Nail Yakapov wants out of Edmonton

So with the few games left... He starts chirping about how he's been asking for a trade.

He plays like he's being chased by a swarm of bees.

No one knows what the hell he'd doing with the puck.

The Oilers own scouts didn't even want him to be picked.

Good riddance I say.

You started pouting after 45 games.... And you never stopped. I'm born and raised from that town.... An I ain't too fond of it these days either....

But sheesh! At least try to be a professional.
You can tell slack arsed play when it happens.... It happens wayyyy too much from this guy.

Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

..... And we been trying ta trade ya for about a year now.

Maybe Toronto will take him.

He's got 31 goals in the[B] last three seasons[, Monaghan's close to 30 this year/B], Jagr's got 25. Yep KHL here we come.

The problem with trading him is that the way he plays no one would give you a last round draft pick for him.

I'm not surprised by the trade request, I am surprised by him asking before the others in the kid crew.

I usually do not like Mark Spectre but this was a good summary article.

I don’t think he’s a loser; he should have never been picked.

Why, in all the picks did they not take defence?

He has value but only if the package can benefit Edmonton?

If the nhl had relegation the oilers would do well.
Long gone Gretzky.
Losers.

And you can't claim wearing a silly oilers cap is akin to religious headwear.

Sad

We'll make a playoff run next year.

I have faith. It just might be a religion for me.

Yak is an infidel.

My point bringing him up is that he's never been a decent contributor to the team in any meaningful way.... And I believe he's making 2.5 mil...?

Our new management team has no problems relegating babies to the AHL.
They should send him there and let him rot till his contract is over.

What I wouldn't do for an extra $500.....

Spoiled overpaid baby.

They had great hopes for him but he didn't pan out, maybe he just isn't as good as they thought. Someone will trade for him and take a chance so let the deals begin. I highly doubted he would have been here anyway next season. So now his agent puts it out there that he wants out and he gets some press before the season winds down. He aint helping this team anyway. Bye Bye Nail.

Some sources are saying he requested a trade, and I've heard he's said his agent acted on his behalf, and without his instruction.

At any rate, the team will likely have a new look come September, and for once it won't be the coach/GM who have moved.

Default I bet the same thing happens to McDavid

Spend a couple years with a crap team with crap management and no tangible results and it results in mediocrity. The Oilers have been "re-building" for how many years now and with how many #1 draft picks? ....it is getting really pathetic for the Oilers I will say.The only difference between the Oilers and the Leafs is not how crappy the team is but which team had more #1 picks which really makes the Oilers crappier than the Leafs.

Chiarelli and the coach are the real deal.

There's been good changes.... There's just been soooo much to change.

Can't make a silk purse out of a sows tail overnight.

Next season will be a lot better.

Whatever happens, I hope they can work Drew Remenda into a trade somehow.

I can't see someone like McDavid wanting to play for a decade without winning a cup. Hopefully they get a move on so at least they have some hope.

When you are a cellar dweller even a playoff spot is asking for a lot, a cup would require a miracle.

Agreed. Also factor in injuries, the late stabilizing of the goaltending and a couple of good recent trades. I think next year will be better.

Edmonton wants Nail out of Edmonton. He's one of the guys I want them to trade or give away. We got rid of Shultz that was a great move. McDavid is living up to the hype. I am very optimistic next year will be much better (I'm a dilusional eternal optimist when it comes to the Oilers). It can't get much worse....can it????

The lack of hockey sense is the biggest downfall, he has some skill but he is brutal to watch as far as being clueless about where he needs to be and what he needs to be doing. He gets puck watching and hypnotized easily. They won't get much trade wise for him.

Yup. Sure you can put up 100+ goals playing Jr., running around at top speed like a bull in a china shop, and with some skill, so he looked like a pick. But it won't get you far in a professional league that is so heavily invested in playing system hockey. Head down and butt up and go like mad doesn't cut it.

The Oilers have had 4 #1 draft picks with the most recent being Mcdavid who was projectected to be better that Gretzky for his potential.Yet the team isnt great.

All told it seems to be a total waste of talent that 4 #1 draft picks go to the same team and the teams wallows in crapulence ans the respective careers of those players gets dragged down as well.
