Default 270 WM 150 grain 1" high at 25 yards?

Can someone give me some advice on where my gun will hit bullseye with my gun sighted in as mentioned above? Thanks!

Try 26-27 yards right on the button, will be real close to max point blank range, should be about 2 1/2 in high @ 100 yards assuming scope line of sight is 1 1/2 in above the bore. Hold right on out to 300 or so but remember you'll be hitting high out to 225 or so. Any exterior ballistics generator will graph it for you if you have the muzzle velocity.

Hawkeypop;
Remember that if you are sighted in at 25 yards there is still a factor of 4 for 100 yards and 8 for 200 yards.That is if you are out by 1/2" at 25 you will be out by 2" at a 100 and 4" at 200 yards. I find that sighting in at 25 puts you in the ball park and usually saves on ammo, but to be sure at where your bullets are going you are best to finish sighting at 100 or even better 200 yards.

I put a new scope on my .243 last week, sighted in at 50 yards and then went searching for ballistics data on the web. The Remington web site shows that a 100 grain .243 sighted 0.1 " high at 50 yards is 0.7 " high at 100and bang on at 150 yards.

I too use the 30 yard idea for rough sighting that all. My opinion is I would never take an untested gun to war so why would I hunt with it......

Furthermore I like to sight in at 100 yard for a 300 yard zero....
Depending on the caliber ranges anywhere from 2inchs to 3 3/4 with the guns I own.
Just check the ballistic table for bullet drop for your calibre and bullet size and speed...

Default .270-150

I always load 150s in my .270W rifles, always have since I got my first in '68 and I have had about a dozen since then. I like the 150NP and am also trying Accubonds in my rifles as I can afford it.

I like to sight all my rifles, except my .458WM and .45-70s and .264WM in at 2" high at 100M. I find that this puts me on at 200M, and 24" low at 400, then supposedly 48" low at 500, but, I have no range long enough to check this.

It is easy to remember and my .338WM, .30-06, .280R, 270W and .375H&H rifles all shoot this way well enough that I do not have to worry about which one I am using at a given time.

I also tend to miss by shooting high and thus found that sighting at 3" high at 100 did not work well for me. YMMV.
