Default Hummingbird Helix 7

Just picked up a Hummingbird Helix 7 SI

What are you guys using for Nav cards? Has anyone tried the Lakemaster cards?

I understand I can make my own maps with a zero lines card but that is a work in progress

Cheers

Also using Navionics plus. I just purchased the zero lines card and will be trying my own mapping this season.

Mine came with nav plus and works pretty good for most places but no chance on smaller places. Keep in mind to do your own mapping you have to go slow and focus on driving around many times over the same area. Many give up as it is a lot of work and really cuts into fishing. Saying that you will have good accurate depth contours.

With my expectance in having both navionics and autochart pro cards. You will be disappointed be sure to try find them onsale or you will be quite upset you payed full price for nothing more than a blue cirlcke as a lake. In saying that if you want to map yourself you are going to need the Autochart, the built in 8hours of recording is pretty much useless so you have to get the card for more storage.

I am looking at the hummingbird unit, can you record on to a blank card or do you need the Autochart Pro card?

you need the auto pro zero lines card to record. The unit will have 8 hrs. of built in recording but to make maps you need auto pro
