Are you getting them in snares or traps? Caught a wolf in a coyote snare, had not been there long yet. Had any luck with getting coyotes to stick there heads in a conibear? Sounds like you should hit 100 soon.

Put up a coyote last night. Took me 3.5 hours, can't imagine doing 72! Things have been real slow around here since Christmas. This freakin weather is ticking me off! Needs to stay below freezing but would be nice to see a cold spell to get the fur moving around.

Default Cooler weather

Picked up a black wolf in a snare set for coyote. Looked like there another 3 left in the pack, so hoping to hang up couple more of them.
Seems the marten have slowed down, the weather maybe?

COYDOG
How many snares do you have out and what is your catch ratio of sets to coyotes? You have got the right name

Crappy, wish people would just respect another man's work. I have access to some land just west of Busby, I'm calling in some dogs out there. Are you trapping in that area or out of town..

most of the coyotes I get are snared. I do shoot the odd one if they are dumb enough and let me get close. Had a slow few days, no time to put out more snares after the good day on thursday. Got 15 out today. Only hung 2 today. I have never caught a coyote in a conibear. I dont think you would ever get them to stick there head in conibear unless it had mange or another sickness.

This weather is causing me grief. Sat out at the trapline for week waiting for cold weather to head upstream but no luck. Put out footholds instead and picked up wolf. Hope it gets cold soon. Running out of season soon.

Default Cold!

The cold is coming! I have got to get some wolf bait out. With the warm weather the buzzards pick it clean. Hope the wolves come through this week. Marten season is done at 14 cause I hit my fisher quota early. Got 4 cats so far but they are coming in slow. Need some fresh snow to see sign.

The marten are really slow on our line. Did fairly well in the first month and a half. Shut down for 2.5 weeks over christmas. Since new years we got 3 on 75 sets....

Luckily we got some snow couple days ago and we can finally see some tracks. Put out a slew of footholds and snares so hopefully we can put a dent in the wolf population.

Does anybody know why the lynx in my area ar'nt turning completely grey? To warm? they have some grey on their backs but still mostly brown on the sides and belly.

Ya not a bad couple days. I got 125 hanging now. Got a stale bait which is hurting my count. It is usually a good producing area. I guess I will have to get something different for them to chew on. Talk to you all later.

Cold weather got the fur moving, picked up a couple more marten and two coyotes. Pulled all my marten sets, kinda sad to think no more marten till next year. Oh well, have to focus on the coyotes. If I get 10% as many coyotes as COYDOG, I will be laughing all the way to NAFA.....

Who sent their fur to the feb auction?
Mine will be going to the may sale, hoping for good sale.

Time to dig out that ice auger.
