Awesome check and pictures Phil, the kids look like they had a blast.

Congrats on your first Lynx and Mink 👍

Hopefully you can connect on one of those otter, I've never seen any tracks on my line. I tried when I was a kid but I never did catch one.

Greta pics Nube, for the otter just lay a 280 over the hole and brush a little snow around the edges.

Looks good, iam planning on taking the whole family to the line for a week right after Christmas. We just can't drive up to the cabin with the truck, would be handy.
Could be beaver comin out of the Ice too, had that happen last year on the creek. Caught one in a coni like that.

Nube, from what you described I suspect it was a seismic company that destroyed your marten boxes. They use narrow track slashers to cut the small lines then complete 3-D seismic. Then then market the seismic data to the oil companies in Calgary.

Cool pics buddy, and congrats again. That otter must have been just flying when he came out of that hole to make it that far through the trap ! lol

Right on, I love catching those cats! I think they are the coolest looking animal in the bush. That little otter is a cool bonus too. I don't see a lot of otters on my line and when I get one it's always a treat.

I thought the same thing Jeff. It must have been cruising. There was a toilet behind the set about 15 feet so maybe he was in a hurry to get there lol I got real lucky because I remade the set and the next day it had partially froze over already. Not sure if there is another in there or not.

Great posts nube. Really enjoy your pics. and posts. I remember when you were just cotemplating getting a RFMA. Glad things are working out. Congrats on that first otter.
I also think it is great that your kids enjoy some time with you on the line. Bet they have some neat and very rare things to show there classmates on show and tell day. lol
Hope you have some luck with whatever company did that damage and you re-coup your losses.
I certainly don't envy the long hours you must have to put in to manage a distant line and also get all those pelts ready for market.

Here is a pic of my fisher once I got the trap off. I weighed him at just over 12 pounds.

I had an old beaver hole dug into the bank on a creek that was 50 yards from one of my coyote baits. All through the winter I have had some tracks coming in and out of it. At first I thought Badger with the long claws. Then I figured skunk as I had snared one earlier in the year with a coyote snare. I figured for fun I would make sure and see if I could catch him. I always thought they slept through the year but I guess not lol

I went to check snares today at my 4 coyote baits.
The first bait had nothing except a nice looking fox

At my next bait I had a coyote and another fox
I caught him in the wide open on a very faint trail through the grass on a cutline. I caught a coyote earlier in the same spot.

Then I ended up catching a pile of coyotes and one more fox. It was a good day on my 4 baits.

Love the pictures, Nube! You've trapped some fine looking fur.

That's a really dark coyote in the back of your truck on the bottom right. Pretty cool.

He actually was not bad at all. If his fur was a bit nicer I would have thought of skinning him out believe it or not lol

We got a skunk in a 220 ground set. Killed instantly and no smell at all. It's hanging on the cabin wall.
