I started the 2nd week of November and the first 4 coyotes that I caught graded Early (x3) $78, $88 & $88 and one Extra Early $62. Just like clockwork, the coyotes primed up around the 15th of November and I got +$100 for them. Gonna have to think about when I want to start snaring coyotes next year.

I was hoping for a CD$100 average and even with 3 out of 20 coyotes grading DG3 and selling for $20 each, I managed a CD $118.86 average. I'm really happy with the auction results.....to say the least.

I also had a US$95 average......US$105 without including the 3 DG3 ones.

Yes, odd with the grading. Maybe priming at different time due to geographic region? Had 26 in this auction (still missing 2). All were caught from October 26-mid November. None were graded as early. Averaged $105 US. That weak dollar is really working in our favour.

ya how can you not be happy with yote prices unless your from ontario makes FHA results look pretty crappy. I only had 15 on this sale 1 is still MIA and ave 114 us, they said as they update your account missing fur will magically show up so dont panic yet

Maybe they prime up earlier where you are. I'm just north of Edmonton and they primed up exactly when the manual said they would.....mid November.

I am interested to know where a lot of you guys are catching your coyotes as well. It seems a lot of you have done real well in an average. I am not as high which is fine and I noticed this last year. I think I have a lot of darker colored dogs around here is part of the problem. I don't get many with lighter colors and it seems to affect the average a fair bit. None the less I am still happy with a coyote being worth $95 average.

mine are the same as dr death, same area aswell. same average. except i caught the first one on oct21. and then became overwhelmed with the processing by the middle of nov. so in this auction, they where from oct 21-nov15 and none graded early.

didn't wash a single one, and most still had the ear cartilage still in.

it is interesting. you would think, they would prime up early, the more north you go.

can't wait to see what the next ones bring. trim appears to be hot!

Anyone have fox that auctioned today? All of mine will make the next auction, but I'm wondering what you guys thought of the prices? A lot of them never sold at all, does that mean they all go in the next auction.

Yeah, I only had one in and it was bought back and will be in the next auction. There didn't seem to be much interest in red fox, that's for sure.

"Buy Back skins were auctioned and the bid price was not high enough to sell. These skins will be reoffered in the next auction."

I have 11 fox this year so far but never took any to aucton. I get mine all tanned and sell them privately to guys that want them. By the time I am done I do a bit better than the auction.

Listening to the auction a lot of of fox lots wouldn't sell, who sets the reserve on those? Nube are you getting them tanned cased or do you open them up like a rug?

Cased , they look nicer. They are a real nice piece of fur. I had a couple guys want them for Fur mitts and a few guys wanted some just to have in their trophy rooms. I wanted to get some mitts made up as well after seeing the fur when I got it back. Fox are real nice looking critters

Love my early/xtra early and damaged I and II coyotes!! $88 average ($114- $42). Warm weather, no snow to contend with, no snowmobilers stealing my catch or messing with my sets, easy access, lots of bait available, easy skinning, outsourced my fleshing and boarding and came out $1500 CDN ahead on qty:20 dogs. Woohoooo!!!!!!!!

Sold 110 coyotes today between myself and 2 buddies. $130 canadian average. Still have 90 of our better yotes waiting for the March auction. Very happy with the results! 3 of mine went for $200 each. We had 25 fox in this auction. 1 sold for $30, and the rest got held over.

Majority of my coyotes in this sale were caught early November about 2 hrs west of edmonton. My highest was $142 and lowest $96. I average 119.30$ on 34 yotes. Awesome beginning!!!! I removed cartilage and washed every one. All of them 1&2 brn and dark brn

Congrats to every one who had fur sold at good prices. Seems like beaver really didn't do well and I haven't seen anything about muskrats. Everybody seems pretty happy about yotes.
Some of you seem to be missing pelts and I hope it all get sorted out.
Is there a wbesite one can look at to see how everything that sold did price wise?

Beaver and Muskrat isn't until Thursday.

NAFA.ca has the price catalog but you may need an account to look at it.

Maybe we can consider this a fresh start and maintain good attitudes in the future. I know I've stirred the pot here more than once and regret it. I'd be willing to bet if we got our trapping members together in one place most would get along.
