Hey Nube

Got one in that 241411 lot as well. here is hoping that they go for more than the forecast.

Could that forecast price be a hindrance to us?

On the pre-sale estimate, what are giving for your foxes? I'm have some in, but are not showing up for some reason.

Nor should it be. It's Fur harvesters lol They don't usually get as good a price for long hair. Most of their coyotes are Eastern coyotes. Wish i could send my beaver there. Halford only ships to NAFA. Does the ATA ship to Fur Harvesters as well as NAFA?

curious. i don't have any marten in this sale. if someone would share what are they showing as a presale estimate on some of the marten(with the grade)?? that would be great.

the presale esimate on the coyotes, i have in this upcoming sale is great. if they can match those prices, i'll be super happy.

I'm not putting much trust in these numbers to be honest Bragg. Not sure how they got them and how they can really start placing a number on them. Not sure if my prices are really all that great for my marten. I would have thought that Select and top end furs would have been worth more than what they are saying.

if i where them. i'ld have the pre-sale estimate low. so that the real numbers could be spun positively.

You said you were happy with your coyote grades Brag? How many do you have in this sale? What was your highest lot?

I was not impressed with my grades, only got 11 in this one but thats because i didn't start till the end of Nov. so they were all real nice shape.

My 11 all went as heavy as well but my best lot was 336. Worked out to $80 average US. I had 2 that were real nice, no idea why the grader didn't like them. More concerned about issues with the put-up maybe?

not sure if your complaining? all 1-4's and 3-4's. if they where 1-2's. they'ld be better.

there is nothing you can do about it.

New too the coyote world with NAFA and just trying to get a feel for what others think about their grading. My gut feeling was the grades i got seemed less than they should have been.

Agree 100% 1-2's would have been better and i feel there were 2 or 3 in there that absolutely should have been.

I have another 60 ready to go to the next sale, I really believe that sometimes you screwed on your grades, i have some experience with this on other types of fur.

The more fur I catch and send to auction the more I realise that you just can't change what you got and it is what it is. You hope for the best is all you can do. Sometimes your at the mercy of the grader. I thought last year I got ripped off on some hard grades and this year i feel like I got away with murder.

Trying to understand this pre-sale thingy, I never knew about it before.

Is it possible that the pre-sale listings indicates what you could sell your fur for BEFORE the auction? Maybe a new initiative that NAFA has created?

I'm going to send an email to Mary and see if she can explain what the significance of the pre-sale value is.

Mine seem to have been graded more strictly this year than last. I'm wondering though, the buyers know what's going on if NAFA graded I-II coyotes that would normally be graded I. Will they be willing to pay I prices for coyotes graded I-II? I guess that we'll find out tomorrow.

I'm with you nube, that is exactly how it seems. I guess you just hope in the long run it all works out in the wash.

Your always at the mercy of the graders. They don't know you. They don't care about you. Everyone thinks they have beautiful fur.

I notice that the prices in the "Pre-sale Estimated Value" column have been removed. I wonder if they had a lot of inquiries about them?

My guess would be that it's for NAFA's use to know which pile of fur to put the pelts in.

Some times things just dont make sense on the grade scale Jess . For instance , I have a dog in lot 315 with the same grade as those in 304 , figure that out .
