From my google search that actually went some where lol!! I found that it was developed originaly by Dave Tubb for target shooting to be equal to the .308 in performance without generating as much recoil for the guys who shoot alot in compitions.

Then 6.5 creedmoor was designed to cycle through a short action AR platform , apparently for national course shooting.
Since I will never own ( or at least don't plan to own) and AR in any configuration, I'll simply stick wit the 260 Remington if I want something close to the 6.5X55 but called something else.

There is a lot of that going around , isn't there. If you can come up with a case/bullet combo, someone has likely tried it, or is in the process of doing so.

There's a vast number of potential cartridges between .17 and .50
Someday when some engineer is bored, we'll end up with a .309sds
.309super duper special

Here is the ultimate wildcat- the .2240TNT ( Triple necked terror!) I'm not sure why not more are around or why it was never made commercial, especially with a residual velocity of over 5,000FPS at 500 yards!!

The letters to the editor the next month were hilarious!!
Some were actually of a serious note - some guys are just wraped a tad too tight!!
I've been half thinking of getting a reamer in in 6.5 TNT and sending it to ron Smith so he can do me up a rfle with one of his proprietary rebar barrels!

You know you can get a .260 in a AR right? lol I agree though I'd take either...but I could see myself owning an AR one day...if they don't ban them again....Gotta love Democraps!

Well old paul has a 6.5x55 but he reads too many gun rags and some where along the line he swallowed a yarn of the superiority of this 6.5 creedmoor over every other cartridge He wants it in a bolt gun a savage I think. The cartridge I was thinking of was the 260 bobcat which was/is a .250sav necked up to 6.5. Neither are any better than anything else out there, but some people like to think there's some kinda magic they're missing out on if they don't got whatever they hear is the best or the latest'n greatest.

The Boibcat is very close to the 6mmInternational with the ability to use the longer bullets.
My father told me it was designed to try and compete with the 6.5 cartridges available that the Europeans were using in 300 Meter International free rifle competitions.
Iin those days the 6mm and the 6.5 were very rare birds on this side of the pond as far as match rifle calibers and cartridges go.

i seriously doubt it will make any ground as a target round unless lapua starts to make brass for it.as far as a hunting round it is certainly no better than the other short 6.5,s but who knows it does have a cool?name.it is certainly not very high on my list of new reamers to buy.

Say, has anyone necked that down to 17 yet?
Then you could neck it down once more and load a phonograph needle in it.
You'd need a good backstop when shooting it though or you could shoot yourself in the back of the head.

I once got a stuck fired case out of an old 300WM chamber that closely resembled that look !

Not much really, looked it up in the new hornady manual.I found out the parent case is the .30TC,which is another one of them cases that likely won't be around for very long.I expect he'll be on the buy and sell here in a couple of years searching for brass to feed his rifle if he does buy it..I'm still trying to talk him down from the ledge he wants to walk on
